Lightyear- To Infinity and Boredom: Lightyear is a Disastrous Prequel

Image
Lightyear is a movie that makes you wonder why Pixar bothered. It's a movie that takes Buzz Lightyear, the toy from Toy Story, and turns him into a real person. But not a real person like you or me. A real person who is boring, bland, and utterly unlikable. The movie is supposed to be a space opera, but it's more like a space snooze. The animation is fine, I suppose, but nothing that will make you gasp or marvel. The characters look like plastic dolls, the planets look like golf balls, and the aliens look like rejects from Sesame Street. The movie is a dull and dreary affair, with no sense of wonder or fun. Chris Evans voices Buzz Lightyear, and he does a terrible job. He makes Buzz sound like a pompous and arrogant twit, who has no charisma or charm. He is a hero who is hard to root for, and even harder to care about. The rest of the cast is equally forgettable, with the exception of Taika Waititi, who plays Zurg, the villain. He is the only one who seems to have a clue that t

"Not Dead Yet" is a rollercoaster of emotions and unexpected twists that kept me hooked from start to finish. The series brilliantly blends suspense, drama, and a touch of dark humor, creating a unique and captivating viewing experience. The characters are well-developed, each with their own quirks and complexities that add depth to the storyline. The cast's performances are commendable, bringing authenticity and relatability to their roles. What sets "Not Dead Yet" apart is its ability to keep the audience guessing. Just when you think you've figured it out, the plot takes an unexpected turn, leaving you on the edge of your seat. The pacing is spot-on, ensuring there's never a dull moment. The cinematography and production quality are top-notch, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the series. The soundtrack complements the scenes beautifully, adding another layer to the storytelling. While "Not Dead Yet" delves into darker themes, it also weav

Merry Little Batman- (Bat-Dad: Lessons in Crime-Fighting and Eggnog)

Image
Ladies and gentlemen of Amazon Prime, prepare to have your Christmas stockings overflowing with laughter, groans, and the horrifying image of Batman's bare chest. This is Batman as you've never seen him before - a therapy-obsessed, crime-fighting lightweight who's more interested in polishing his Batmobile than polishing off bad guys. Instead of a brooding vigilante, we get Luke Wilson in a beard, playing a Bats who's more likely to be found sipping eggnog than gasoline. But don't despair, folks, this isn't some cloying family flick. Merry Little Batman is a side-splitting, action-packed adventure that'll make even the hardest Bat-nuts crack a smile so wide, it'll rival the Cheshire Cat's grin. The animation is a bit wonky, with some characters looking like they've been plucked straight from the pages of a rejected Cartoon Network pilot. But hey, it adds to the charm. The jokes are as sharp as a Batarang fired from a malfunctioning launcher, t

The series combines stunning animation, gripping action, and complex characters to create a compelling story that explores themes of identity, belonging, and justice. The series does not shy away from depicting the violence and brutality of the feudal era, as well as the racism and sexism that Mizu faces as a mixed-race woman. The series also explores the political and social dynamics of the time, such as the Sakoku policy that closed Japan’s borders to foreigners, the power struggle between the Shogun and the Daimyo, and the influence of Western technology and culture. Image
What We Do in the Shadows is a hilarious mockumentary series that follows the lives of four vampires who share a house in Staten Island. Based on the cult film of the same name by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, the show expands on the original premise and introduces new characters, situations, and lore. The series is a perfect blend of horror and comedy, with witty dialogue, absurd scenarios, and clever references to vampire mythology and pop culture. The cast is superb, with each actor bringing their own unique charm and personality to their roles. Kayvan Novak plays Nandor, a former Ottoman warrior who is now obsessed with cleanliness and bureaucracy. Matt Berry is Laszlo, a pompous and lustful English nobleman who loves to play the lute and make erotic topiaries. Natasia Demetriou is Nadja, a seductive and sarcastic Romani vampire who has a complicated history with her former lover Gregor. Ted Lasso is a show that has been making waves since its release in 2020. It’s a comedy-drama series that follows the story of an American football coach, Ted Lasso, who is hired to coach a struggling English football team. The show has been praised for its heartwarming and funny moments, and it’s definitely a must-watch for anyone looking for a feel-good show. The show’s creator, Bill Lawrence, has done an excellent job of creating a world that is both hilarious and heartwarming. The characters are all well-developed, and the show does an excellent job of balancing comedy with drama. Jason Sudeikis, who plays the main character, is fantastic in his role. He brings a sense of warmth and humor to the character that is infectious. One of the things that I love about Ted Lasso is how it tackles serious issues while still being funny. The show deals with themes such as mental health, toxic masculinity, and relationships in a way that is both sensitive and humorous. It’s a testament to the

Scrubs an oldie but Goldie!

Image
What's this then? A comedy series about doctors and nurses? Sounds like a right bore, doesn't it? But stick with me, because this one's actually pretty good. It's called Scrubs, and it's now available on Disney+. It's an Australian comedy series, and it follows the lives of a group of young doctors and nurses as they work in a hospital. The show is actually very funny, and it's also quite heartwarming. The characters are all very likeable, and the show does a great job of capturing the camaraderie and the stress of working in a hospital. Of course, no review of Scrubs would be complete without mentioning the show's star, Zach Braff. Braff plays Dr. John "J.D." Dorian, and he's absolutely brilliant in the role. He's funny, he's charming, and he's just the right amount of sarcastic. The rest of the cast is also excellent, and they all have great chemistry together. Donald Faison is hilarious as J.D.'s best friend, Turk, and
