Lightyear- To Infinity and Boredom: Lightyear is a Disastrous Prequel

Lightyear is a movie that makes you wonder why Pixar bothered. It's a movie that takes Buzz Lightyear, the toy from Toy Story, and turns him into a real person. But not a real person like you or me. A real person who is boring, bland, and utterly unlikable.

The movie is supposed to be a space opera, but it's more like a space snooze. The animation is fine, I suppose, but nothing that will make you gasp or marvel. The characters look like plastic dolls, the planets look like golf balls, and the aliens look like rejects from Sesame Street. The movie is a dull and dreary affair, with no sense of wonder or fun.

Chris Evans voices Buzz Lightyear, and he does a terrible job. He makes Buzz sound like a pompous and arrogant twit, who has no charisma or charm. He is a hero who is hard to root for, and even harder to care about. The rest of the cast is equally forgettable, with the exception of Taika Waititi, who plays Zurg, the villain. He is the only one who seems to have a clue that this movie is a joke, and he plays it accordingly.

The movie tries to be a mix of action, comedy, and drama, but it fails at all three. The action scenes are boring and repetitive, the comedy is lame and childish, and the drama is forced and melodramatic. The movie is a mess of clichés and tropes, with no originality or creativity. The movie tries to explore themes of identity, heroism, and destiny, but it does so in a shallow and superficial way. Buzz's journey from a test pilot to a space ranger is a snooze-fest that will bore you to tears.

The movie also tries to pay tribute to the classic space movies of the past, but it does so in a clumsy and ham-fisted way. The movie is full of references and nods to the sci-fi genre and space history, but they are either too obvious or too obscure. The movie is a poor imitation of the movies it tries to emulate, and it adds nothing new or interesting to the genre.

In conclusion, Lightyear is a movie that should have never been made. It is a movie that ruins Buzz Lightyear, the character we all know and love, and turns him into a dull and dreary space cadet. It is a movie that wastes the talent and potential of Pixar, the studio we all admire and respect. It is a movie that is a waste of time, money, and space. It is a movie that is not worth seeing, and it is a movie that is best forgotten.
