Reflections on Legacy and Life:
Have you ever contemplated this idea? In 100 years, such as in 2123, we will be laid to rest alongside our relatives and friends. Our hard-fought homes will be inhabited by strangers who will come to possess everything we own today. All our properties will be owned by strangers who have not yet been born. Even the car you splurged on will likely end up as scrap metal, perhaps in the hands of an unknown collector.
Our descendants will have little knowledge of our identities and barely remember us. How many of us are familiar with our great-grandfathers? Once we pass away, we will only be remembered for a few years before becoming a mere portrait on someone's bookshelf. Eventually, our history, photos, and achievements will be discarded into the abyss of forgotten history. We won't even exist as memories.
If we pause and reflect on these questions, we might comprehend the ignorance and frailty of the pursuit to acquire everything. Our perspectives and thoughts would change if we could truly think. We would become different individuals.
Constantly striving for more and more without making time for the precious aspects of life—this is what I would alter. I would love to experience and cherish those walks I never took, the hugs I failed to give, the kisses to our loved ones, and the pranks we never had time for. These moments would undoubtedly be the most cherished memories, ultimately filling our lives with joy. In contrast, what we squander with our greed and intolerance daily is an enormous waste.
There is still time for us! Ponder upon it!
