Getting my baby ready for summer...

Image
This is one of my favourite ways to spend some of my free time. All alone in my garage, washing, polishing and buffing up my love! I had a couple of bikes and even if this one is gonna take me some more work to get her back to its formal beauty and shining glory, I still can’t help but look and stare at it and think to myself what a piece of striking metal Honda in USA, (Japanese design and engineering but build in Ohio) managed to create in the late eighties... and that is even when it is standing still, you have to ride it and feel the V4 engine tremble beneath you in a slow way when it’s idling and a weird kind of power and force whenever you stretch the rev counter and push it hard . It’s an unexplainable feeling as the wind embrace your face and plays with the little hair out of the helmet as you try to slice thru it... it is not just the destination but the trip to make it there...

Rebels take the road again...for a worthy cause

California Dreaming

Image
One of the most beautiful roads in California, hundreds of miles, riding through Joshua Tree National Park to Pioneertown. The low speed limit and high traffic don't induce you to go fast, but the high speeds is not part of the spirit of a similar ride. Cruising in tranquility, is the name of the game, preferably on some American steel, powered by a V twin Harley Davidson engine as you enjoy the beautiful country side, on the tune of Johnny Cash, Hogs Sun and Cash...give me some time to catch my breath!

27days to go...I don't follow crowds, I draw them...

counting them 1,2,3. That's how many days are left for this year edition of the best Motorbike street show in America after the Daytona Beach Bike Week of last month. I simply adore the Bike Weeks, The spirit, the unity, the smeel of burning tyres, booze, posers and GIRLS. Is there anything else that a man needs...naaaa. All of them are running thru my veins and make my heart beat faster...Born Free to Born to Ride... BTW, if you are finding it difficult to see what you are gonna get me as my next present, I can suggest the following two parts for my baby, just in that colour, the same like my bike...beautiful burnt orange... this blog is dedicated to all bikers, bike lovers and in memory of Patrick il-Habsi, Matthew and Bruce...they were all members of the gang...You are now riding with the Lord, ENJOY... for more pic of Daytona Beach Bike Week see http://daytonabeach.bikeweek.com/gallery.cfm/mode/browse/id/393

The Silk Road Adventure-one of my dreams

Image
They are back all the eighteen of them, with so many experiences and that special feeling of freedom. After covering more then 12,800 km and conquering 8countries from Turkey to China in 53 days they are back after finishing their world tour. A daunting incredible journey which Helge Pedrsen, the leader of Globe Trotters Tours has been doing for the last 10 years, 4 times a year. This time they had to go thru a new route, The Silk Road. I hope one day I would afford to take so much days off to be able to do it. It's one of my dreams to be able to visit so many places in such an exotic way because it is such a exciting way to see the world in such a beautiful perspective. It's a challenge that I'll face one of these days...until that day I just watch the video and drool:) for more pictures and info about this specialist tour operator of holidays on two wheels just check the official site of GlobeRiders
