Go Mobile and Vodafone Malta sms rates...what's the buzz???

I don’t see why there is a reason for all the fuss that’s been made because both Vodafone Malta and Go mobile have rounded up their prices and everyone is saying that the prices will increase.
In some cases they will but if you are a heavy texter just like me I found a way which for the next 6 months you can text smses for free.
I used to be a Vodafone customer and although I was not unhappy with their service, I never received any bonus or incentives for being their customer for 10 long years so during the last note Bianca in October I was stopped by a salesgirl in the street and as she intrigued me with a special offer which was being sold on that special night. If I kept my original number and moved to Go mobile I would be given 500 free sms and Lm 15 credit. Nothing special one might say when one sees the new marketing campaigns during Christmas from both companies, well you are right but Go mobile have an ace in their hands with the scheme called TEXT, where one can buy 300smses for Lm3 that is €6.99 which again means 1 Maltese cent or 0.02 €cent per sms. So by using this scheme I spend only Lm3 a month that is the same rate of 2007. I got the first 500 free sms for the 1st month and since I have Lm15 credit I don’t need to top up until the end of April 2007. So I don’t see no reason why one has to strike and send all these stupid mail and spam on hi5 and face book. Change operator, get free credit and stop grumbling when we have the cheapest rate in Europe…mind you I did complain big time when my doctor charged me Lm 4 for a visit at the pharmacy when he used to charge Lm2 and then Lm6.50 when he came to visit me at home when he used to charge a fiver before…there always linja 154 and yes if it’s not FAIR, please complain…

Please note that the text plan you are referring to is also the same exact text plan which Vodafone Malta has.
So yes i agree with you, why all this fuss ????

thanks for your comment and it's good to know that because I didn't know that vodafone provide a similar scheme. If I knew I would have stayed with vodafone which I do find are excellent providers in fact I use their internet service because onvol have let me down so many times.

I liked your comments Gzira United and I saw no reason why you removed it. Luckily we will have a third player soon in mobile provision, but I bought 300 sms from Go just this morning and I was charged 6.99 euros

I do not agree with your point. Communication should be free or at a minimal cost and not with stupid offers.

Christmas offers, Texting offers, Easter offers...what is going on?

And another thing Codama: you were not informed from Voda about the new scheme because you were an "old" customer. The offer was valid for the new ones. This is valid also for GO subscribers.

Anyway, though I do not agree with you, this post is listed on the front page of www.sandrovella.org . You exercised your freedom of expression not only through wonderful naked women and cars. I loved that. You will see this post on the right hand menu: Il-Minjiera tal-Gurnalisti Hielsa.

Keep going on with interesting posts like this.

Thanks for your comment Sandro and thanks also for linking my humble blog to the site of Il-Minjiera tal-Gurnalisti Hielsa.
I'm looking forward to the third player and fron the rumors inside melita cable I heard that it will be free to talk with each other if both clients use the new operator system which at the moment is in the testing...Again I don't like melita cable that much because they have let me down even if I had their service for more than 5 years and just like a big operator as vodafone which I believe still hold a monopoly because maltese people tend to not change and remain loyal to what they learned to like or brainwashed to like it is not fair that we are never given the chance to learn what's going on. As for the naked girl Sandro, thanks to the stupid maltese burocracy and stupid mentality I had to be held for 12 long hours with that poor bulgarian girl because even if the photos were taken at 5am in the morning in the most remote part of Ghar Lapsi I was told that I am doing an imoral thing so I need to be punished. Try to explain that to a girl who has been a glamour model for 5 years in europe. They got the answer when with that photo I made it to the 25th place out of 5000 worldwide entries and so then again is my way to express my frustraton to the local mentality. thanks Sandro keep them coming...

Hi Sandro,
Thanks for your concern but I don’t want to re open that story, what happened, happened I don’t like to talk about such incidents much
Given that I still take glamour photos around Malta (mostly Gozo), but nowadays with more prudence, I promise that if I have to go thru it again, I will let you know the story.
