Brian Adams Live in Malta with a pre show from Winter Moods

Image
For one night only, the 29th of June 2007, the fans of good old rock music were treated to an evening like no other, an evening that sent shock waves throughout the crowded streets as Brian Adams well and truly rocked our little island. This was the first and hope, not the only Maltese date for Brian, whom at the end of the concert he also confirmed that the rumours that he has some Maltese blood rushing thru his veins, were for real. He certainly didn’t disappoint his fans in his more then two hour long set at Luxol’s Football ground in St. Andrews. The concert, in aid of the ‘Find Madeleine’ campaign was a cavalcade of rock. Opening for Brian was the veteran Maltes band Winter Moods, a band with some varied and interesting tunes, which were toe-tapping pieces of music brilliance. This little known abroad band, who have four fantastic albums and two EPs under their belt (my favourite being Morning Ale) and have a great follow up in Malta, have a special way to lift the crowds spirit a

Waves of freedom...

Don't know why I'm still afraid If you weren't real I would make you up now I wish that I could follow through Could this be true And deep As the sea On Waves of freedom But right now Everything I want is wrong, And right now All my dreams are waking up, And right now I wish I could follow you On the waves Of freedom, Where no one lives. Remember when we first met And everything is a bet a game You would call; I'd call you back And then I'd leave A text But right now Everything is turning blue, And right now The sun is trying to kill the moon, And right now I wish I could follow you To the shores Of freedom, Where no one lives We're made out of blood and rust Looking for someone to trust Without A fight Could it be that is too soon You're the diamonds and the moon That lights Up my night Eaglet Run away tonight Eaglet, Eaglet, Run away Run away tonight Got no much time to kill Like the pigeons on my window sill We hardly hang around Ever since I've bee

FANTASTIC WEEKEND . . .

Image
A young man walked into a jeweler's shop late one Friday, with a beautiful young lady on his side. "I'm looking for a special ring for my girlfriend" he said. The jeweler looks through his stock, and takes out an outstanding ring priced at £4500. "I don't think you understand ... I want something very unique", he said. The jeweler went and fetched his special stock from the safe. "Here's one stunning ring at £33000." The girls' eyes sparkled, and the young man said that he would take it. "How are you paying?" "I'll pay by cheque, but of course you would want to make sure that everything is in order, so I'll write a cheque and you can phone the bank on Monday and I'll collect the ring on Monday afternoon". Monday morning a very irate jeweler phones the man. "You lied there's no money in that account." "I know, but can you imagine what a FANTASTIC WEEKEND I had ?"

Malta Stuprata- Raping Malta

The following is a poem in Maltese by an unknown author. It was sent via email and is meant to create awareness of the way the little green areas and the beautiful beaches in Malta are being exploited because some bastards have enough money to buy whatever they like even enough to buy the malta planning and environment authority and then spoil such a beauty by building concrete monsters to make more money...this time it is the Ramla il-Hamra the victim of such atrocity. Ramla Bay in Gozo is another one of my favourite bays. I remember fondly the days I spent there when I was a small kid during our frequent trips to Gozo. Ramla Bay is located at the bottom of another rich and fertile valley on the northern side of the island of Gozo. The village of Xaghra, located on one of the hills of Gozo, overlooks this valley. The Bay can be reached from the village of Nadur, Gozo's largest village. Terraced farmers fields blanket the whole valley in a green carpet with the field-rock walls bu

it has been a while...

it has been a while since I have dotted down some stupid letters but as I was shifting thru some channels i came across a song which isn't that out of this world but somehow it tends to soften me up and up to today I am still trying to figure out the reason why... Everybody's Free (to wear sunscreen ) Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ' 99 ... wear sunscreen. If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be IT . The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now. Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth . Never mind. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are NOT as fat as you imagine.
